Renovation work of Ravindra Bhavan currently underway

Painting of the interiors and the exterior, minor civil work etc has been passed and will commence soon; Pavers in the parking and the entrance areas which caused a lot of problems earlier have been re-laid; work on electrical systems, It and air conditioning is carried out regularly

After lot of delay in the work of the Ravindra Bhavan, the ball is finally rolling. The proposals of work of painting the interior and exterior of the building, minor civil work and other work has been passed and it will be starting soon. The major parts of the work like pavers in the parking and the entrance areas have started and have been completed halfway. The Ravindra Bhavan building and the exterior areas after being commissioned haven’t been relooked at for over 8 years now. After it’s commissioning in 2008, the Ravindra Bhavan this year completed 8 years in service. The venue which is primarily used for the staging of Tiatrs and many other conferences is now old and dilapidated and many areas inside and outside require work. The paint of the walls of the outer and inner side has flaked on account of water seepage from the slab joints. The interior painting work of the Ravindra Bhavan will soon commence. The pavers in the Ravindra Bhavan parking area have been partially re-laid and the remaining work of re-laying will be done at a cost of more than 5 lakh rupees. The central passage of the parking has already been repaired. The chiller unit of the main plant of the air conditioning which was due for repairs will also be looked at soon. An incomplete wall of the Ravindra Bhavan will also be completed in a few days. The other work of electricals, air conditioning, IT and also pest control is regularly done under respective annual maintenance contracts and is up to date. “People were facing hardships due to the degenerated pavers in the parking and the passage areas. We took up the work of that first to stop the trouble to thousands of people who come to the Ravindra Bhavan,” said Damu Naik, Chairman of the Ravindra Bhavan. The proposals for all the work have been presently processed and the work is being executed by the Public Works Department. The payments for the works are done by the Art and Culture Department through the Ravindra Bhavan.
