PANJIM: Residents of Cacra village in the Santa Cruz constituency have expressed their frustration over a severe lack of water supply in their ward, which has persisted for five days.

Many residents rely on a nearby well for their water needs, but they report that it is insufficient to meet their demands.
Locals have raised concerns that despite the Santa Cruz village panchayat member living in close proximity, no action has been taken to address the issue.
Laxmi Fatarpekar, a resident, stated, “We need more water during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. We were told that a pipeline was broken, but I can’t believe it because other areas receive water while we face hardships. We are forced to walk a distance to fetch well water. Our panchayat member lives nearby and should look into this.”
Another resident, Vimal Kunkolkar, echoed these sentiments, saying, “We are bearing the brunt of this water crisis. We have resorted to buying mineral water bottles as a temporary solution. You can see a lot of plastic bottles in my house.” She urged local authorities to address the matter promptly and alleviate the residents’ hardships.
