VASCO: The Public Works Department (roads division) section at Baina has commenced emergency asphalting and repairs of the potholed roads Vasco.
Acting on a Herald report, PWD asphalted the roads at the KTC bus stand, under the railway bridge and at the vegetable market.
The move to asphalt the roads has been welcomed by motorists, especially two-wheeler riders, who found it a challenge and struggle to negotiate the dilapidated roads below the railway bridge and near the vegetable market.
“Besides benefiting us, the asphalted roads will also be of great help to the large number of people who will be visiting the town during the course of the Vasco Saptah festival and the ensuing fair,” remarked a motorist.
Some have, however, expressed doubts on the quality of the road-repair work, given the fact that it has been carried out during the monsoons.
