PANJIM: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued a rough sea warning along the Goa coast for the next two days.
As per the advisory from INCOIS, there is possibility that sea will be rough near shore and also low-lying areas may experience surges intermittently between 12.30 pm on Saturday and 11.30 pm on Sunday due to effect of high period swell waves, of 2 to 2.5 metres height.
“There is a possibility of surging of waves during the high tide, in the low-lying areas of coasts during this period,” the IMD report said and advised that plying of boats near to the coast may be avoided during this period.
The report further says that the boats may be anchored at a fair distance from each other, to avoid collision and damage, and has suspended water based recreational activity on the coast.
However, there was no large change in the maximum temperatures and they were above normal. The highest maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius was recorded at Panjim, Mormugao and Dabolim, while the minimum temperature was 27 degrees Celsius.
The weather is likely to be dry in the coming days.
