The Regional Passport Office (RPO) Goa has set a new benchmark in passport services by issuing normal (non-tatkal) passports within just four to five working days after completion of police verification, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has said.
Highlighting the improved efficiency under the Passport Seva programme, the MEA noted that several other passport offices across the country, including those in Kerala, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru, have also demonstrated high performance in processing and delivering passports in shorter timelines.

The ministry attributed the faster turnaround to streamlined procedures, greater use of technology and close coordination between passport offices and police authorities for timely verification.
