Members of the Muslim community on Sunday gathered outside the Sunni Gulistan Masjid in Gogol, urging authorities to reopen the mosque for prayers.
The mosque has remained shut since a murder occurred at its entrance a few days ago, an incident that reportedly followed a clash over the management of the religious institution.
Those assembled said the closure has caused inconvenience to worshippers and appealed for an early resolution so that normal religious activities can resume. They also called for peace and restraint, stressing the need to maintain harmony in the area.
Police continue to investigate the murder case, while security has been maintained in and around the mosque to prevent any untoward incidents.
