Russian held for overstaying
CALANGUTE, MAY 29 (HR) — A Russian national was arrested by Calangute Police on Friday on charges of overstaying in the country without a valid visa. Alekxandr Solomein (40) was arrested at Naikka Vaddo, Calangute by the police team led by Police Inspector Nolasco Raposo. According to Calangute Police, the Russian had arrived in India on March 31 and his visa had expired on April 24. Solomein has been booked under Section 713 of Foreign Order and Foreigner’s Act and has been remanded to seven days police custody.
“The drive on illegal overstaying in the State will continue,” said PI Raposo.
