Mapusa: The Comunidade of Saligao called for an emergency general body meeting on Sunday to discuss an alleged scam regarding a building that was supposedly constructed by them.
It is understood from letters that have been sent to the Administrator of Comunidades and the Directorate of Panchayats that the former attorney and late president had allegedly colluded with members from the panchayat to encroach on Comunidade land.

There have also been allegations that the scamsters, through the use of an unlawful account, were giving receipts on behalf of the Comunidade, to the tune of more than Rs 2.2 crore.
