CURCHOREM: South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha has urged the State government to appoint a settlement officer to resolve the long pending issue of the reserved forest area at Kalay.
He was speaking while laying the foundation stone for the Children’s Park at Kalay near the primary school.
“I will also try to work out a solution through the Forest department, as residents have been facing severe difficulties because of forestland,” said Sardinha.
Speaking further, Sardinha said every elected representative must work for the welfare of the people without discrimination, while pursuing development.
In his speech, Kalay Panch Kishor Gauns Dessai informed that the projects which are sanctioned by Sardinha under MPLAD scheme for the Kalay village includes the primary health centre, balwadi and cemetery, besides a jogging track and a badminton court.
Kalay Sarpanch Vaishali Naik, Deputy Sarpanch Balu Rekdo, Panch Villas Bicholkar, Vishal Khutkar, Santosh Gaonkar, Nayan Shelke and government school PTA Chairman Laximkant Dessai were present.
