SBI branch opens at Benaulim

The State Bank of India on Wednesday opened a new branch at Benaulim opposite Holy Trinity Church at the hands of Parish Priest of Holy Trinity Church, Fr Anthony Vaz.
The branch was inaugurated in the presence of SBI Regional Manager, Mohan Ganeshan, Benaulim Sarpanch Carmelina Fernandes and Principal of Holy Trinity higher secondary school, Benaulim Isabel Fernandes.
Parish Priest Fr Vaz called upon the bank to extend help and assistance of the small scale industry, including small carpentry workshops.
In her address, Benaulim Sarpanch Carmelina Fernandes offered all cooperation to the SBI bank and hoped the people of the village benefit from the new branch.
SBI Regional Manager, Mohan Ganeshan said the SBI is opening new branches in Salcete in order to decongest the Margao branch. He said the new branch will get a ATM counter within a month or two.
Ganeshan said the branch will offer all facilities for the NRIs from the village, adding that the branch will offer housing and car loans and loans for agriculture and for small scale industry.
