Authorities in Shirgao are gearing up for the annual Lairai Zatra with extensive security and crowd management arrangements in place to handle the expected large turnout of devotees.
Providing details, Dinanath Gaonkar said that as many as 92 CCTV cameras have been installed across key نقاط to ensure round-the-clock surveillance during the event.
A strict no-stall zone has been enforced along the stretch from the temple to Tali to maintain smooth movement and avoid congestion. In addition, separate queues have been designated for general devotees and ‘Dhonds’ (traditional participants), aimed at preventing overcrowding and ensuring orderly darshan.
Around 100 volunteers, along with police personnel, will be deployed to manage the crowds and maintain law and order during the event.
Officials said these measures are part of a comprehensive plan to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of one of Goa’s most attended religious gatherings.
