PONDA: Mahamaya Aarti Mandal, Shiroda won the 16th State-level Ghumat Aarti competition organised by Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda.

The second and third prizes were awarded to Mahaganapati Aarti Mandal, Amona-Bicholim and Brahmanidevi Aarti Mandal, Talwada-Pali, Bicholim, respectively. Besides three consolation prizes and four prizes for individual performance, including best ghumat performance, were also presented.
In women’s category, Shree Lairai Mahila Ghumat Aarti Mandal, Shirgao-Bicholim bagged the first prize, while the second prize was awarded to Yuva Kala Mogi Mahila Ghumat Aarti Mandal, Talaulim-Ponda. The third prize went to Ratnadeep Mahila Aarti Mandal, Tarvalem-Shiroda. Besides three consolation prizes, best prizes for individual performance were also presented.
Bal Ghumat Aarti Mandal, Canacona was awarded the first prize in the children’s category, while the second and third prizes went to Swar Sateri Bal Aarti Mandal, Savoi Verem and Shree Gurudev Sai Bal Aarti Mandal, Borim, respectively. Besides three consolation prizes, prizes for individual best performance were also awarded.
