Responding to a question on the recent remarks by the State PWD minister Ramkrishna Sudhin Dhavalikar on ban on pub culture, he however, said he was not really sure in what context Dhavalikar made the remarks.
Naik also spoke about development of 9 airports across the country saying that Dabolim was the first priority among those and that e-visas would start at Goa soon.
Speaking about air fare, he said they are really high compared to other countries. Giving an example he said that people visited Sri Lanka because the airfares were much cheaper. He said that he would speak to the civil aviation minister on this as in case the air fares reduced it will not only boost tourism and also increase investment.
Meanwhile, the union minister Dr Jitendra Singh said that the investigations into the alleged role of the previous Goa Governor Bharat Vir Wanchoo would continue even as he wished the new governor Margaret Alva the very best.
Speaking to media on the sidelines of his trip to dedicate a 80 mts research vessel ‘Sindhu Sadhana’ to the country, Dr Singh said that the investigative agencies would do their duty and do what they have to.
Wanchoo, till recently the governor of Goa was ‘interviewed’ by the CBI over the AgustaWestland helicopter deal that went through at the time he was chief of the SPG.
