According to Kerkar’s application, on Thursday she received a threatening phone call from an unknown person who first inquired whether she was Tara Kerkar and later reportedly abused her with filthy words and asked her to drop the follow up in Siddhi Naik’s death case and threatened her with dire  consequences if she doesn’t listen to his demand.

Kerkar further said after the first call she received several more calls from the unknown person but she discontinued the calls.

Kerkar later reported the matter to the Vasco police who tried calling on the unknown number to identify the person, but the phone was switched off.

Kerkar said she suspects that the unknown caller must be backed by a political godfather as otherwise nobody would dare threaten an activist.
