The meeting will be on Sunday at 10 am at the Shantadurga temple.
Sancoale Sarpanch Sharan Meti informed Herald that he has sent special invitations to the Environment and Forests Minister Alina Saldanha for the crucial meeting and the panchayat is expecting a large turnout.
The Biodiversity Management Committee (BMC) of the village was inaugurated recently after which the chairman of BMC and sarpanch decided to call for the special gram sabha to explain to the villagers details of the project and hear their views.
The marina issue has been in the news these days mainly as the villagers and the traditional fishermen have come out in opposition to the same. The government however, has expressed its willingness to go ahead with the projects despite the objections of villagers.
