VALPOI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Monday informed that special medical facilities will be provided to women in Goa soon.
He said, “Many women are diagnosed with breast cancer and other types of cancers. I am working on to give a special attention for the women patients suffering from dreadful diseases.”
Rane was speaking at a medical camp organised by Phoenix Women’s Wing Self Help Group in coordination with Directorate of Health Service and GVK EMRI, at Nanus, Valpoi.
Rane said, “He is happy to see Goa Medical College, Bambolim being accorded the 23rd rank among the 70 government hospitals in India.”
“I give credit to the team of doctors and other employees of GMC who helped this hospital to reach to greater heights,” Rane added.
He further said facilities at Community Health Centre, Valpoi has been improved.
“I’ll make sure that all the facilities will be available at Valpoi CHC and people from Sattari need not worry to visit GMC every time as our government is committed to serve public in larger interest,” he said.
Lauding the efforts of PWWSHG, Rane urged them to empanel all the SHG of Valpoi under one umbrella and work for the betterment of society.
Phoenix member Aruna Rane was felicitated for conducting awareness campaign on menstrual hygiene across Goa by Health Minister.
Advocacy talk on HIV and STD was held for women. GVK EMRI staff demonstrated first aid for cardiac arrest. More than 100 patients were registered for medical camp.
