All Goa taxi owner slammed government to have hand in glove with
the agencies who are officially authorized to issue speed governor machines. They
claim to be a big scam, as they have been issued with the certificates of speed
governors without the installation. The Taxi Owners met the director of transport on Tuesday putting
forth their grievances regarding the speed governors. Speaking to media Bhaskar
Narulkar, said that we are not satisfied with the speed governors which are
already installed by the respective car agency, as they are defective. However,
when we approached the agency about the outdated device, they demanded
additional 5000 amount to change the device.
He further claimed that the issued certificates are fraud and
government should intervein into this matter. Narulkar even said that agency
named GEMINI has step back from any responsibilities which were not acceptable
by the owners and some concrete action should be taken to resolve the matter. Other taxi driver claimed that due to negligence from the
authorities we are being penalized and the cars are getting seized by the RTO. He
raised concern by saying “how are we supposed to survive without operating taxi.
The government itself is not capable of providing jobs nor they can support our
business, he added.
