OLD GOA: A full-fledged Spiritual Renewal Centre for the Archdiocese of Goa at Old Goa is set to be inaugurated by Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao on November 17.
Preceding the inauguration, a mass will be said by the Archbishop accompanied by more than a hundred priests at 4 pm. On the occasion, about 2000 faithful from all over Goa are expected to attend the event at the Cruz dos Milagres, Boa Vista Hill, Old Goa.
After the mass, the Archbishop will bless the centre with the history of the Oratorian Fathers of St Joseph Vaz simultaneously screened for the benefit of the faithful.
The second and third phases, completed at a cost of around Rs 20 crore, include the new wing of the Spiritual Renewal Centre consisting of air-conditioned hall and also the renovated old building of the Oratorian Fathers which houses the renovated room of Fr Joseph Vaz where he was residing during his stay at the Cruz dos Milagres.
During the forthcoming exposition of the relics of St Francis Xavier, the centre will also act as a premise to house the pilgrims with facilities to accommodate around 300 individuals.
