PANJIM: A record of around 18,500 students will appear for their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations, which starts on Thursday, with the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Examinations assuring that all arrangements were in place for smooth conduct of the same.
The examination will be held from March 28 to April 8, at 24 centres in the state located in big and small towns and villages of the state, with the first paper being English.
Speaking to Herald, Board Chairman Jose Remedious Rebello said the board had taken adequate care to see all concerns were accommodated.
“Around 18,500 plus students will be answering the exams. We’ve even made provisions for children with special needs to answer their exams including giving them extra time, a writer, a reader, etc.” Rebello told Herald.
On the first day of the examination, candidates have been advised to be present at the place of examination not later than 9.30 a.m. and on the rest of the days to report 15 minutes before the commencement of the examination in the subject.
Late arrival of beyond one hour after the commencement of the examination in each subject will disqualify the candidates from appearing for the said examination. No candidate will be allowed to leave the hall before first hour of examination. The board has also warned of strict action against examination malpractices.
