PANJIM: Undergraduate students from various colleges gheraoed the Controller of Examinations at Goa University (GU) pointing out to serious errors in the results. Around 50-60 students, under the banner of Goa University Students Council, alleged that the online results of the internal semester, which were declared on December 16, 2017, had flaws, forcing them to apply for re-evaluation.
“The papers were given for re-evaluation and the marks were revised. It is proven that we had fared well at the exam. How can the GU commit gross error and not refund our money despite its fault?” asked a student speaking to the media, after submitting a memorandum to the Controller of Examinations. It is learnt that for each paper, students had to pay approximately Rs 525 for re-evaluation.
Students have demanded a solution by January 5, failing which they have threatened to stage a protest and resort to a hunger strike.
