VASCO: Questioning intention of the State BJP over the promise of 50,000 jobs in its election manifesto, MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar said that before promising 50,000 jobs, BJP should answer to the people of Goa why they put on hold 11,000 government jobs despite the fact that all these jobs were already sanctioned. He was speaking at the MGP’s public meeting in Dabolim constituency on Sunday. On the occasion Dhavalikar also released MGP’s state manifesto.
“It is good to hear that BJP intends to provide 50,000 jobs to the people to eradicate unemployment issue, but I want the BJP leaders to reply categorically to the people as to what made them to put on hold 11,000 jobs for which all sanctions and approvals were taken. I now promise to the people that soon after becoming chief minister I will ensure that all these vacancies are filled within a year,” he said.
He said that for creating 50,000 jobs, the State needs at least 15 factories like Zuari industries which was brought by MGP led government in past. “When they can’t provide good roads, power and water to the industries and even in the new industrial estate like Tuem, how can they claim to provide such large number of employment?” he questioned.
He claimed that with the blessings of Nitin Gadkari and Manohar Parrikar, he as a former PWD minister managed to bring Rs 20,000 crore from the Centre for improving road infrastructure in Goa, but Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar could not even bring Rs 5000 crore.
“Parsekar always says that he needs time to learn about the portfolio and even after taking over PWD portfolio from me, he said the same thing that he would study about the PWD and then reply. I felt that even after becoming chief minister next time he would still be learning and studying the portfolios. Therefore, I had to put condition before BJP on chief minister face which they refused and today the MGP is no more with BJP,” he said.
