Sadanand Shet Tanavade, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Goa, took a significant step towards the Rajya Sabha as he filed his nomination for the upcoming polls scheduled on July 24. Goa’s BJP Unit unanimously agreed on Sadanand Shet Tanavade as the party’s candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha election. The deadline for filing nominations is set for July 13, following which the scrutiny of nominations will take place on July 14. Withdrawal of nominations can be done until July 17.
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expressed strong confidence that Sadanand Tanavade would secure a comfortable victory in the Rajya Sabha elections from Goa. Sawant highlighted the support of 33 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), comprising a coalition of BJP, MGP, and independent legislators, and stated that the numbers were in their favour.

“We have the numbers with us. Our strength is 33, which includes BJP, MGP, and independent MLAs. I am confident that Tanavade will emerge victorious in the Rajya Sabha elections, and I extend my advance congratulations to him,” Sawant remarked.
Sawant further extended an appeal to the Opposition, urging them to support the BJP candidate in the Rajya Sabha polls. “We urge the Opposition to extend their support to our candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections,” he added.
During the nomination filing process, Sawant highlighted the significant presence of 28 BJP MLAs, along with three independent MLAs and two MGP MLAs.”I am confident that Tanavade will secure a majority in the Rajya Sabha polls,” Sawant expressed.
