PANJIM: A fortnight after the controversial Regional Plan 2021 (RP21) was opened for fresh inputs, the Town and Country Planning (TCP) department has sent copies of the land plan to the village panchayats for public suggestions and comments.
The development came following a series of complaints from people who listed the difficulties they face, travelling to the taluka and district offices of TCP.
The taluka settlement plans of village panchayats and municipal councils will now be available at the respective village panchayat offices. The last date for submission of suggestions and comments is January 1, 2016.
Till date, hundreds of suggestions and comments have been received. The government is likely to form a State level committee to scrutinise the suggestions and comments and to recommend their incorporation in the final plan. The government intends to notify the plan by April 1, 2016.
