PANJIM: The Directorate of Health Services has floated a tender for the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Universal Mediclaim scheme inviting competitive quotations from Insurance companies licenced and registered with the IRDA or agencies authorised under central legislation to undertake insurance related activities dealing with Health Insurance for implementation of the government’s new scheme.
The scheme is intended to benefit the resident population of Goa. “Resident
Population” is defined as people residing in Goa for more than five years. The Domicile Certificate could be used for the purpose of identifying such residents and for documentation purpose.
The government will be asking bidders to submit technical and financial bids and only those companies which are found technically acceptable shall have their financial bids opened.
The technical bids shall be opened on 27 September and the financial bids of accepted companies on 11 November.
According to recent population projections, there are as many as 3.20 lakh families in Goa to be provided benefits on a cashless basis to the beneficiaries up to the limit of their annual coverage
The scheme shall provide coverage for meeting expenses of hospitalization for medical and/or surgical procedures including maternity benefits, to the enrolled families and up to Rs 2.5 lakh per year for a family of two up to Rs 3 lakh per year for family of three, up to Rs 3.5 lakh per year for family of four, up to Rs 4 lakh per year for a family of five and up to Rs 4.5 lakh per year for a family of more than five members.
The benefit to the family will be on floater basis, ie, the total reimbursement of the amounts mentioned above can be availed individually or collectively by members of the family per year.
