Great Souls are born once in a lifetime, so it could be said of
Prof Adi H Doctor the Father Of Political Science In Goa, who sadly passed away
on Wednesday morning at his residence in Porvorim and was cremated on Wednesday. He would have been 86 years in October 2022. Former
Acting VC of Goa University and former Dean and Head of Dept of Political
science Goa university he was virtually the last intellectual of the Dept of Political
Science and Goa University. He was so committed to democracy that Prof Doctor
even voted in the Goa Panchayat Elections 2022 at Porvorim, as late as August
2022.
He had retired from Goa
University in 1996 and was hail and hearty until Tuesday when he was driven to
Panjim city by his son Sarosh Doctor and enjoyed his snacks and serradura at a
city café. His limbs became feeble and cold on Wednesday and he breathed his last at 7.30 am in the presence of his sons and their families. His wife Perin Adi
Doctor passed away recently.
