PONDA: A thermocol warehouse in the Kundaim Industrial Estate was engulfed in flames late on the evening of Wednesday, 18th December, resulting in property damage worth lakhs of rupees. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, authorities said.

According to the Kundaim Fire Department, the blaze was reported at the warehouse, located approximately 500 metres from the fire station. Firefighters from Kundaim were immediately dispatched to the scene, with additional support from the Ponda and Old Goa fire departments.
The fire, fuelled by the large quantity of thermocol stored in the facility, raged intensely, also causing extensive damage to the roof of the warehouse. Firefighters worked diligently to control the situation, preventing further damage to surrounding areas.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported. The fire brigade teams carried out crucial relief operations, ensuring the blaze was brought under control.
