Going a step further, few tiatrists have even requested to name any Ravindra Bhavan after M Boyer in honour of his contribution at the State, national and international level.

He was known as one of the best ever song composers with meaning-ful lyrics and tiatr scripts, having unique concepts. He was one of the many who fiercely loved and espoused the cause of Konkani language and participated in the language agitation of 1986-87.

Pascoal de Chicalim, a famed tiatr artist told Herald that they want the government to rename Kala Academy in the name of late M Boyer.

“Actually, the government should have taken an initiative to build an auditorium at Mapusa or any other location in memory of this legend, who was a great personality,” he urged.

He said M Boyer was one of the best entertainers God had sent to this earth who entertained and regaled the Goans and Goans world over with his tiatrs, songs, comedy etc.

“He was an entertainer par excellence and a very strong crowd puller. His presence in any tiatr itself was a sign of a houseful crowd. M boyer will be remembered forever and his place cannot be taken by any of the current breed of tiatrists. His songs are rich in content and his achievements are second to none,” said Pascoal.

He hoped Goans would get to see more legends emerging in future.

Menino Fernandes alias Menin de Bhandar, President of Tiatr Acade-my (Goa) said that the new generation of tiatrists need to follow the footsteps of the late Boyer so that the rich culture of tiatr is preserved

“He was like a magician of tiatr and his composition of songs was mind-blowing. He was one of the greatest crowd pullers,” he said.

Agreeing with Fernandes, famed comedian Ben Evangelisto said that he felt proud that performed with the great tiatr personality late M Boyer.

“He was a true guide. His tiatr was with a unique subject,” he added.

Cezar D’Melo, another senior tiatrist said that Boyer used to compose and write meaningful lyrics and his tiatr ‘Ekuch Rosto’ was on com-munal harmony, which was well appreciated by the Goans.
