A tipper, worth about Rs 11.68 lakh, was stolen from Baina-Vasco on Wednesday night.
According to Vasco Police, unknown persons stole Tata tipper (GA-06-T-1428), which was parked near Kamat Service Station at Baina.
According to the statement of tipper owner Ibrahim Shaikh, the vehicle, which was barely one-year old, was parked at Baina on Wednesday at about 11 pm. The truck was found missing on Thursday at about 6 am, informed police.
Vasco Police has registered an offence against unknown persons and is investigating the case.
Incidentally, this is the second such incident to have occurred in Vasco within the last three months, where parked heavy vehicles have been stolen by unknown people.
Earlier, a truck, which parked at Varunapuri, Mangor Hill, Vasco, had gone missing and it is yet to be traced.
