The NGO claimed the last para of the order clearly indicates that the stay on the project will continue for two weeks and that the tribunal has come to the conclusion that there is a prima facie case of Coastal Regulation Zone rules violation and has granted opportunity to the Goa Foundation to file a fresh application on the project before it for consideration.
The Goa Foundation says that this application is being filed by it.
The Tribunal held that the Goa Foundation’s appeal against an NOC granted by the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority for construction of the bridge was barred by limitation.
The Goa Foundation has alleged that the Rs 77-crore bridge is being constructed with public money for almost exclusive use of the Golf Course Eco Resort project of Leading Hotels proposed at Tiracol.
The hotel claims it has purchased 90% of the village land (all of which was tenanted) for purpose of constructing the golf course.
