PANJIM: Tiswadi Muslim Welfare Society has launched a month-long campaign on ‘Road Safety’, on the occasion of National Road Safety Month.

The inaugural function of the campaign was held on January 15, 2025, at EDC House. The chief guest for the inaugural function was DySP Salim Shaikh Goa Police and the guest speaker was Tukaram R Shet Mandrekar, Assistant Sub-Inspector,
Goa Police.
The program started with a brief introduction of the road safety campaign by the host, Mohideen Hassan Shaikh, followed by the enlightening talk of the chief guest who spoke on the importance of such campaigns and the various reasons for accidents.
He informed the audience about the various provisions of traffic laws and why it is important to follow the rules.
During the campaign, the TMWS aims to circulate an awareness song, which was released at the end of the inaugural programme, a short film and a documentary film via social media.
Street plays, skits, corner meets, rallies, presentations at schools, colleges and institutions and the distribution of informative flyers at public places will be undertaken by TMWS, a statement from the society said.
The inaugural programme of the campaign concluded with a vote of thanks and a pledge taken by all those gathered, to drive home the point that ‘road safety starts with each one of us.’
