Toddler drowns at Nerul construction site

In a tragic incident, a 2-year-old toddler drowned at a construction site at Nerul on Tuesday.
According to Porvorim police, the incident occurred when the child, Manjunath Baswaraj Pattimanohar, was playing at the construction site at Nerul. His mother had gone to deliver tea to her husband, when the child accidentally fell in the pit at the construction site and drowned.
When his mother returned, she found the child missing and began a frantic search. The body was later found in the pit.
Porvorim police rushed to the site and after conducting the inquest sent the body to GMC Hospital at Bambolim for postmortem. Later, the body was handed over to his parents. Police Sub Inspector Sawant is investigating the case.
