MAPUSA: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant inaugurated the Goa Tourist Police Assistance Booth at Candolim Beach on Monday in presence of Calangute MLA and Ports Minister Michael Lobo, Director General of Police Mukesh Kumar Meena, Secretary Tourism J Ashok Kumar, and Superintendent of Police North Shobit Saxena.

Addressing the gathering, Sawant said that along with medical, spiritual and hinterland, Goa is also promoting political tourism.
“We are committed to provide all the services to the tourists. Safety is the prime for us. The police will be deployed 24×7 to provide services to the tourists on all the prime beaches of North Goa. Police are trained with soft skills to handle the tourists and soon they will be provided with special uniforms,” Sawant added.
“Tourism is prime industry for us which generates revenue indirectly. Along with government, the stakeholders should also take initiatives to attract more and more tourists. New tourism policy will be made taking the stakeholders into confidence including Travel & Tourism Association of Goa, high end hotels, taxi owners and others who will work together on how tourism in the State can be flourished. The State will benefit 10 times when the tourists leaving the State themselves promote the tourism of Goa,” he stated.
The Chief Minister also said that Goa will be able to attract more tourists once the State is 100 per cent vaccinated with both doses by October 31. “I appeal the people of Goa to get themselves vaccinated with both the doses as well as promote vaccination within others,” the Chief Minister said.
