The Directorate of Transport in May for the fifth time had invited tenders for HSRP, on May 16.
Director transport Arun Desai, without disclosing the names of two companies, said that by next month the company would be finalized for implementation of HSRP.
The High Court in September 2013 had slammed the government for not implementing the HSRP ignoring the Supreme Court order. Accordingly, the transport department on December 6 had begun the process of re-tendering the HSRP for the fourth time. The bids were opened in mid-February. However it was canceled as none of the bidders qualified for pre-qualification bid requirement.
Government in early 2013 had re-floated the tender for the third time. However the same was cancelled after Goa State Works Advisory Board (GSWAB) headed by the chief secretary recommended that government should re-float the tender, as only two bids were received in response to the tender.
The government in 2005 had awarded the first contract that was terminated in 2010 citing glaring irregularities in the contract process.
