MAPUSA: Two suffered minor injuries when a Maruti Swift car plying on the Porvorim- Mapusa road veered off the road and landed in the field at Gurim.
The mishap took place on Saturday afternoon when the driver lost control of the car as he dozed off and the car fell into the field.
Alerted by passersby at 3 pm, the Porvorim police rushed to the spot and on checking the vehicle they learnt that it was a self-accident. The vehicle was damaged in the incident.
A police officer said that the duo suffered minor injuries and were sent home after treatment at District Hospital, Mapusa.
Police said that on enquiry they learnt that while proceeding towards Porvorim, the driver fell asleep, hence he lost control over the vehicle resulting in the accident.
