Two killed in Paroda, Batim accidents

MARGAO: Two persons were killed in separate accidents reported in the State on Wednesday.

According to the police, Roshan Amin Muzawar (41), a resident of Borimol-Sirvoi, Quepem died after his two-wheeler collided with an oncoming motorcycle at Paroda, Quepem.

The motorcycle rider Mohammad Sarfaraz, a native of Fatehpur, Jagdishpur in Bihar and presently residing at Housing Board, Davorlim, and his pillion rider Mohammad Riyaz Shaikh sustained grievous injuries and have been admitted to the Hospicio South Goa District Hospital, Margao for treatment.

The accident occurred at around 8.45 am when Sarfaraz while attempting to overtake a vehicle collided against an oncoming two-wheeler rider Muzawar. Sarfaraz and pillion rider Riyaz were proceeding from Margao towards Quepem.

The Quepem Police conducted the panchanama and registered an offence against Sarfaraz under Sections 281, 125(b) and 106 (1) of BNS. PSI Digambar Bondre is conducting investigation under the guidance of Quepem PI Arjun Sangodkar and overall guidance of Quepem DySP Sagar Ekoskar.

In another accident reported at the Agasaim Police Station, Francis Braganza, 43, a resident of Forgottemwaddo, Goa Velha died after his SUV collided against a compound wall at Batim early Wednesday morning.

His accomplice received minor injuries and was discharged after administering medical treatment.

The Agasaim Police conducted the panchanama and sent the body to the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim for autopsy.
