Two tourists die in Dabolim mishap

Two tourists died, while another tourist was seriously injured in a self-accident along the NH-17B near Alto Dabolim on Sunday afternoon.
According to Verna police, Mustakim Anwar (25) of Bihar, Kalim Ekramuddin (20) of UP died on the spot, while Rizwan Kalamuddin (20) from Bihar was seriously injured and was in an unconscious state.
The accident occurred when the trio was proceeding on their Bajaj Discover motorcycle from Verna towards the airport. However, while negotiating a turn along the NH-17B near Airport Plaza Hotel, they lost control over the vehicle and dashed against the roadside rock.
Police claimed that it appears to be rash and negligent driving, as all the three youth on the motorcycle were without the helmet.
“It is not yet known who was riding the motorcycle, as the third victim is in unconscious state at GMC Hospital at Bambolim,” said Verna PI Jivba Dalvi.
“It appears to be rash and negligent driving,” he said.
