In a grim discovery earlier today, a decomposed body was found beneath the Karaswada flyover in Mapusa. The identity of the deceased remains unknown, but authorities suspect the individual may have been a beggar living in the area.
The body, reportedly in an advanced state of decomposition, was spotted by locals who immediately alerted the police. A team from the Mapusa police station arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area for investigation.

Authorities have initiated procedures so as to determine the cause of death and are working to establish the individual’s identity. Preliminary observations suggest that the body had been there for several days.
“We suspect it could be a homeless person or beggar who had taken shelter under the flyover. Further details will be known after the post-mortem,” a passerby said.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety and living conditions of the homeless population in and around Mapusa. Investigations are ongoing.
