PANJIM: United Brothers stormed into the final of Advocates Cricket League (ACL T20) 2025 with a four-wicket win over Risers in Qualifier 1, at the Goa Cricket Association ground, Porvorim, on Thursday.

Risers, batting first, posted 176/8 in 20 overs, thanks to contributions from Dattaprasad Shirodkar (37), Dattaraj Arondekar (33), Abhinav Marathe (31), Shantaram Naik (23), and Ashok Kassar (23). Ashish Desai and Raghu Parab took two wickets each for United Brothers.

In reply, United Brothers overhauled the target in 19.1 overs, losing six wickets. Satyam Ghogale top-scored with 41, while DattarajGawas (39), Showmik Angle (24), Dattaraj Parab (20), and Coburn Franco (18 not out) played crucial roles. Risers’ Dattaprasad Shirodkar claimed 3/20, but his efforts were in vain.

In the Eliminator match, Lawyer Challengers defeated Lotlikar Lions by 18 runs. Lawyer Challengers posted 138 before being bowled out in 19.2 overs, with Mithun Govekar top-scoring with 32. Viraj Tar and Devanand Korgaonkar chipped in with 25 and 24 runs, respectively. Pankaj Dessai and Shailesh Redkar took two wickets each for Lotlikar Lions.

In reply, Lotlikar Lions were bowled out for 120 in 19.2 overs. Viraj Tar (3/18) and Harsh Parekh (3/14) were the chief architects of Lawyer Challengers’ win, sharing six wickets between them. Sandeep DMello (28) and Kunal Naik Gaonkar (22) were the main run-getters for Lotlikar Lions.

Risers will face Lawyer Challengers in Qualifier 2 on Friday, with the winner advancing to the final against United Brothers.

In the earlier matches, Lotlikar Lions pounced on United Brothers to record a seven-wicket victory.

United Brothers, batting first, were bundled out for a paltry 99 in 17.2 overs, with Sahil Khot (40) being their standout batter. Showmik Angle (15) and Alphy D’Souza (10) were the only other two batters to reach double digits.

Lotlikar Lions’ disciplined bowling attack, led by Kunal Naik Gaonkar (3/22) and Sunil Bugde (2/14), stifled the United Brothers’ batting lineup.

In reply, Lotlikar Lions overhauled the target in just 13.4 overs, with Shailesh Redkar top-scoring with an unbeaten 49. Aditya Naik remained not out on 28 as Lotlikar Lions made 102/3. Lawyer Challengers prevailed over Legal Titans by 16 runs.

Lawyer Challengers, batting first, posted a moderate 125/9 in allotted 20 overs, with Mithun Govekar (43), Sachin Sardessai (26), and Iftikar Agha (16) being the main contributors.

Siddhesh Bhaip claimed four wickets for just 17 runs, and was well supported by Vedank Naik with figures of 3/22.

In reply, Legal Titans made heavy weather of the moderate 126-run target, losing wickets at regular intervals to be finally dismissed for 109 in 19.4 overs.

Satchit Mauskar put up a fight with a 34-run knock, while Pravin Gawas (16) and Sachin Ramnathkar (15) did their bit. Vijay Tar claimed impressive figures of 4/20 to be adjudged the man of the match.

Parab, Satyam Goghale, Kyle Ticlo and Pravin Gawas were the standout performers as United Brothers and Legal Titans registered convincing victories at the SAG’s Chicalim ground, Vasco. United Brothers made light work of Lawyer Challengers, winning by eight wickets.

United Brothers opted to field first and bowled out Lawyer Challengers for 146. Devanand Korgaonkar (27) and Vrusaj Talaulikar (39) shared a 67-run opening stand, but the rest of their batting lineup — except Achit Shigwan (29) and Gautesh Pawar (22) — failed to capitalise on the good start.

In reply, United Brothers rode on twin fifties by Dattaraj Parab (61) and Satyam Goghale (57 not out) to complete a comprehensive victory.
