The Crime Branch of the Goa Police has ar rested a 48-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh in connection with a viral video filmed near Tito’s Lane in Baga that sparked widespread outrage online. The accused, identified as Saurabh Sahni, was traced to Lucknow follow ing a technical investiga tion by the Crime Branch’s PRISM unit and Social Me dia Monitoring Cell in Pan jim. He was subsequently brought to Goa and placed under arrest. According to police of ficials, the case was reg istered suo motu after a video surfaced online. The video showed a man allegedly making explicit sexual ad vances towards a woman near the popular Baga tourist area.
Authorities invoked Sections 75 and 79 of the BNSS 2023, along with Sections 67 and 67A of the IT Act, 2000, which pertain to sexual harassment and the publication of sexually explicit content. Investigations revealed that the video was uploaded on a YouTube channel named “Realduniya007” and later shared on Facebook from an account bearing the accused’s name. During interrogation, Sahni reportedly confessed to solicit ing the woman for prostitution and recording the incident on September 19, 2024, around 1:19 am near Tito’s Lane. Police said the accused uploaded the video on April 12, 2026, in an attempt to increase subscribers to his channel.
After re ceiving limited engagement, he reposted the same video on his personal Facebook account. He also admitted to uploading the content without concealing the identity of the victim. The victim, identified as a foreign national, has been traced and her statement recorded. Authorities confirmed that efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend other individuals seen in the video. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (Crime) Rahul Gupta, with assis tance from SP Jivba Dalvi and officers of the Crime Branch unit in Ribandar. Police stated that further investigation is underway.
