UP Man With 18 Children Murdered by Lover, Body Dumped in Canal

Mustaka Gulshan, popularly known as Munna, a former village head from Sumerpur, Uttar Pradesh, was found murdered days after going missing. Police recovered his body from a canal on March 22, stuffed in a sack, and arrested two suspects: Suman Devi, a married woman, and her brother.

Investigators revealed Munna, who had two wives and 18 children, had grown close to Suman, whose husband had left for work, leaving her alone. Munna often helped her, but the relationship allegedly turned coercive. He reportedly forced an affair and began blackmailing her, pressuring her for secret meetings.

Distraught, Suman confided in her brother. On March 18, she lured Munna to her maternal home. There, her brother and accomplices ambushed him with iron rods, killing him on the spot. They dumped the body in a canal and abandoned his motorcycle elsewhere to mislead searchers.

The case broke open after Munna’s family filed a missing person report. Phone records traced calls to Suman, leading to the arrests. Police are now hunting additional accomplices.

Munna, eyeing a comeback in upcoming village elections, leaves behind a large family. Authorities confirmed the duo’s involvement, with forensic evidence pending. The incident has shocked the rural community, highlighting dangers of tangled personal ties.
