CANACONA: Urban Development Minister Milind Naik visited Canacona Municipality recently to understand the difficulties in undertaking the projects which are on hold for various reasons in the jurisdiction of Canacona Municipality.
He was accompanied by local MLA and Deputy Speaker Isidore Fernandes along with Chairperson of Canacona Municipality Nitu Dessai.
While briefing the urban development minister, Fernandes spoke about spokes in implementation of the various works vis a vis finding ways and means to tackle the problems.
Fernandes brought to the notice of the minister who was accompanied by Director of Municipal Administration Tariq Thomas (IAS) and other support staff of DMA about the dilapidated state of crematoriums, fish market, municipal building, Dumane Garbage Treatment Plant (GTP) and garbage collection from the houses in the jurisdiction of CMC.
In the beginning, the deputy speaker reminded everyone that the meeting which had the above issues on agenda was held without the customary water bottles and flower so as to help in reduction of garbage.
While addressing the media, Fernandes thanked the minister for making time to visit Canacona.
