MARGAO: The Varca gram sabha was assured by the Sarpanch Shalini Pereira that the panchayat has already started the process of carrying out a survey of migrants living in the village by checking the tenant verification forms with the police.
It may be recalled that the increasing number of migrants in the village was linked up to the increasing crime and at the last gram sabha villagers had asked that a survey of the migrants living in the village be undertaken,
At the gram sabha today the villagers also raised the issue of erratic power supply to the village and pointed out that electronic equipment of various people including items like refrigerators and even television sets have got spoilt due the power fluctuation.
The sarpanch assured the people that she will take up this matter with the concerned authorities. The gram sabha that had four panchayat members and 25 villagers present also approved the budget for the year 2019-20.
