According to police, the child’s grandmother lodged a complaint that her granddaughter had been allegedly raped by Fernandes who used to stay in neighborhood and used to visit the house frequently. As per the statement of the child to the police the accused raped her on two occasions and molested her on many occasions between December 2014 and June 2015.
Police said that the girl’s parents are working abroad and she used to stay with her grandparents.
Police have registered a case under Sections 354, 354-A, 354-B, 376 of IPC and Section 8(ii) of Goa Children’s Act.
