Residents of Vasco da Gama may soon get relief from long-standing water supply issues, with local MLA Krishna Salkar stating that the problem is expected to be largely resolved by the end of April.
According to Salkar, booster pumps will be installed to provide immediate relief to residents while authorities work on replacing old and damaged pipelines that have been causing frequent disruptions in water supply. These measures are expected to stabilise the distribution system in the coming weeks.
In addition, a new 20 MBR reservoir is being set up in Verna to improve water storage and supply for Vasco and nearby areas. The reservoir project is aimed at strengthening the long-term water infrastructure in the region.
The MLA said the combined steps, including pipeline replacement and the new reservoir, are expected to fully address the water supply problem by May, providing lasting relief to residents.
