MARGAO: This is Herald Margao Page impact. The TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai has called an urgent meeting with South Goa Collector to discuss on the plans to shift the Ring Road completion affected people to transit camps.
Herald had highlighted how the Court had given 15 days time for the shifting of the 15 families to the assigned transit camps to remove the structures and get the ring road opened to be connected to city. However, it was learnt on Tuesday that there was no intimation nor any discussion held over the issue for over 11 days of the 15-day deadline.
The meeting planned on Thursday will be held at the Collectorate. On Wednesday the Deputy Collector and Land Acquisition was supposed to have a meeting with the PWD officials to chalk out a plan to have rehabilitation.
However, the official couldn’t meet because of being busy with the District Collector. However all eyes are now set on the discussion of the Minister Vijai and his decision after the meeting with the district magistrate.
It is also known that the transit camps agreed upon at the court are not in a condition to hold these families as they lack basic amenities.
