MARGAO: TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai inspected the SGPDA retail fish market early morning on Thursday on the backdrop of the renovation work of the same. The work is expected to complete in the next at least 40 days.
Accompanied by the consulting architect, Vijai visited the market and after discussions decided to shift the retailers from their present place to the section where the fish is cut.
“I have asked the SGPDA and the contractor to get the section ready for the shifting of the vendors and the lighting and other works of the space will be soon done,” Vijai said.
Vijai expects better sense to prevail while the entire shifting of the market is complete. He also informed that they wish to open the renovated modern SGPDA retail fish market on or before the Goa Statehood Day.
Vijai also informed that the vegetable and fruit vendors have blocked the passage at the market hindering the movement of the people.
Meanwhile, Vijai said that he has advised the SGPDA to create the land use register in the manner the TCP Act mandates.
