Heated exchanges were witnessed in the Goa Assembly on Wednesday, as Opposition MLA Vijai Sardesai alleged that Kala Academy work was allocated to Teckton Buildcon without inviting tenders even when CPWD Manual mandates that even specialized work has to be given by inviting tenders. He questioned how there was cost escalation up to Rs 56 crore and asked Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawamt to institute an inquiry. When the Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude pointed out that the Taj Mahal was done without tender, Vijai quipped that this was public money and it had to be accounted for.
