Vijai Sardesai Calls for ‘Clear Vision’ for Goa at Free Eye Camp, Urges Unity Against Divisive Politics

Goa Forward Party (GFP) President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai on Saturday organised the third free eye check-up and eyeglasses distribution camp, using the occasion to stress the need for Goans to have a “clear vision” of the direction in which the state is heading.

Addressing attendees at the camp, Sardesai said the initiative was not only aimed at improving eyesight but also symbolised the need for people to clearly understand the challenges facing Goa.

“Goans need clear vision to see where our state is heading,” he said, while highlighting issues concerning the future of the state and its people.

Invoking the spirit of Goa Statehood Day, Sardesai called upon citizens to remain united and work together to safeguard Goa’s interests. He urged people to stand against religious divisions and appealed for collective efforts to counter what he described as divisive politics.

The GFP leader also called for unity among Goans in opposing the BJP, asserting that preserving Goa’s identity, culture and social harmony requires a united response from the people.

Sardesai further announced the inauguration of the Fatorda Social Club later in the evening, describing it as a landmark initiative for the state. According to him, the facility marks the first instance in Goa where a privately owned parcel of land has been dedicated for public access to sports and recreational activities.

He said the initiative would provide local youth and sports enthusiasts with greater opportunities to participate in sporting activities and promote community engagement.

The eye check-up and eyeglasses distribution camp witnessed participation from residents of Fatorda and neighbouring areas, with beneficiaries receiving free vision screening and spectacles as part of the programme.
