Waylaying accused get police custody

The five accused, who were arrested by Pernem police on Thursday on charges of waylaying people traveling in trucks at isolated places along the highway at Malpem-Pernem, have been remanded to four days police custody.
It may be recalled that the five accused had were arrested for waylaying two trucks from Rajasthan and extorting money from the occupants.
The five accused, Cyril Dias, Thomas Fernandes, Marian Camilo Fernandes, Inacio Avelino Lobo and Satyawan Gaonkar were produced before Pernem First Class Magistrate on Friday, who remanded them to four days police custody. Pernem police PI Uttam Raut Desai is investigating the case.
