PANJIM: Goa University, the State’s only varsity has been ranked 81st on the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) for 2019, announced by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) on Thursday.
While retaining a spot in the 100 best universities, the varsity has jumped ahead from the 93rd rank it had obtained in 2019. The University scored 41.37 in its overall discipline.
Three other institutes from Goa and the University are on the list of best institute rankings for the year 2020. The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Goa which ranked 87th in 2019, has jumped to 77th position in the best 100 engineering colleges in the country.
Goa College of Pharmacy slipped to 47th position from 43rd amongst best pharmacy colleges. Goa Institute of Management, Sanquelim ranks 48th in the category of best management colleges.
However, no institute from the State features in the overall ranking for institutes across disciplines. Also, Goa Medical College is not listed amongst the 100 best medical colleges in the country, nor has any college got such a listing for the year.
NIRF rankings are given with the parameters broadly covering teaching, learning and resources, research and professional practices, graduation outcomes and outreach and Inclusivity and perception.
